Zebedeez Weddings » Nov 10, 2011 (5 days ago)Your First dance at your wedding….
So what was your’s???
So many couples are now leaving behind tradition and going with what they love.. some even learn huge routines.. (we have all seen the thriller and dirty dancing examples)..
Here is an article written about this new phenomenan……

What should Bridesmaids be wearing?
Just found this article about what to dress the modern bridesmaid in… very good read.
“Today’s bride is progressive, she lives with her fiancé before marriage, has limited time due to her high-powered career, and simply just knows better in her mature age (29.5 is the national average of an engaged woman) than to choose bridesmaid outfits that won’t suit everyone or worse, endure the test of time. With this in mind many retailers are now catering to brides’ new approach when it comes to dressing their wedding day helpers. For instance, RW&Co., Banana Republic and BCBGMaxazria are just a few of the popular retailers selling special occasion dress collections this season.”

The Light Direction
I came across a competition a while ago by Ces Creatively to do with a series of books and short stories that she writes called The Light Direction… The competition was to design a piece of jewellery based around the stories. It was a wonderful opportunity and great fun to do! Here is a sneaky peek at what I did….
By Zebedeez JewelleryCes is very focused on helping small businesses get promoted and get their name out there so was really honoured that I could be a part of what she is doing.. Here is a little more about what The Light Direction is all about in her own words :
“The Light Direction series is written from the perspective of lead character Emma Williams. The first book introduces the main characters. Em is on a path to meeting her love interest Jez but the road to love is not without complications. As romance blossoms Em is having the time of her life and the vision of a fruitful future with Jez seems a certainty.
However, as the intriguing story dramatically unfurls Emma finds that her connection to mysterious Jaxx is far more deep rooted than she could have ever imagined as they share a supernatural gift. Em is drawn to Jamie on every level and when outside forces shatter her plans with Jez she finds herself at a crossroads. As Jaxx knows all too well and Em is starting to realise, all of their lives are irrevocably intertwined with charismatic antihero Nic Fellowes who uses his supernatural powers to more sinister ends no matter who gets in his way.
“Before… I was like a child, innocent, unaware of the enormity of certain things that would significantly impact the direction
of my life. Oblivious to seeing the bigger picture, caught up in my own little world. In a bubble. During those first few days
ter those first few days everything would change.
with Jamie, I was at a cross roads… making subconscious decisions about which way to go without even focussing on the signs.
And EVERYTHING DID CHANGE“.
As the captivating story follows several years in the roller coaster life of Emma Williams, she discovers her love runs strong for both Jez and Jamie as she is catapulted into the reality of supernatural forces being in play. As the interwoven plot thickens she must develop her supernatural gift to take on Nic and ‘Fight for The Light Direction’ with unexpected and far reaching results.”
This site launched on May 29th 2011 in memorial of her son Aarlonzo. Please check out her site http://the-light-direction.co.uk/blog/about-tld/. Regular updates and features will be added to her blog on a weekly basis.
You also have a chance to win a prize for submitting blogs about The Light Direction - The Light Direction is still being featured in online papers on a daily basis which is really great to see and I appreciate all the support and interest that brings.

Brides on a budget
Due to the rising costs of weddings now, the average costing around £20k! Brides are getting more money savvy and getting creative in keeping their costs low.. many opting to do as much as they can themselves, as well as having more laid back venues who don’t charge as much.
As most brides know there are certain aspects of the wedding where it is hard to cut costs, but careful planning and negotiating can help reduce costs, sometimes significantly. Keeping numbers down, preparing some (do-it-yourself) projects and getting in as much voluntary help as you can, can go a long way to helping with this…
In recent surveys it shows that the reception accounts for over half the costs of you wedding, and most of that money is spent to ensure the guests have a great experience, and remember the day even more than the happy couple themselves. Many couples are now shying away from sit down meals and having buffets instead for people to be able to mingle more and not be restrained to one seat for the evening. I have even heard of Bacon ‘butties’ as the evening buffet option… Nice idea.
Others are organising their own music by way of i-pods, CD’s, photographer costs are being lowered by letting guests take pictures with disposable cameras on the day. However you choose to have your wedding make sure it is fun and enjoyable for you as much as everyone else. This is your big day and it only happens once.
What a day I have had……..
Wow, what a day I have had!!!For the last week I have been suffering with toothache. I went to the dentist on Monday and have got some antibiotics and need to go back on Tuesday to have a root removed… aarrgghhhhhhh. Needless to say that I have not been sleeping well (surprise surprise)… But my little darling (who is 3) does not believe in laying in, so have been getting up between 5-6am everyday.. EXCEPT TODAY…… The little monkey decided that 3.45am (yes you read it right) was the way to go… LOL
So have basically walked round like a zombie most of the day.. My wonderful Granny came round earlier so I have to say I had a chance to go back to bed for an hour, but am desperately tired again now, so guess what…. yep….. I am going to bed again early.
A couple of more articles coming up over the next couple of day, hope you like them.
ALSO…. If you know of anyone in the wedding industry that may be interested in writing guest blogs for me please refer them to me, they can email me on info@zebedeezjewellery.co.uk
Night night all and have a good evening :)www.zebedeezweddings.co.uk
Bridal Hair
So what style do you go for, up, down, part up or part down..??? Many brides are pondering over how to have their hair… It’s almost as big a decision as the dress…… So here are some tips as to what you need to do before the big day.
Before you can choose your headress/Tiara etc you need to know what your hair will be like to make sure it goes together and will go in your hair ok. (then you can come to me for your bespoke piece of head wear!!) lol

Main thing is to have a session with your hairdresser beforehand trying out different styles.. If you have an idea of some then take photos along to show them.
Once you have found the style for you, take lots of photos so you and your hairdresser can remember what it was like ready for your big day!
Hair colour/cuts need to be done at least a couple of weeks before the wedding so that you can let them settle, and you may find putting a few hair extensions in are a great way of adding volume to your style.BIG THING - Wear something easy to take off that does not go over your head on the day as otherwise you will ruin all that gorgeous hair that you have just spent time having done…
Last but not least… enjoy the day, put your feet up, relax and enjoy being pampered!
GOOD LUCK xxwww.zebedeezweddings.co.ukBridal Hair Accessory
Once you have the dress its time to think about the Headwear and jewellery…..
So do you go for the traditional style of Tiara and Veil, or the more modern bohemian, flower styles… A lot will depend on the style of dress you have.
There are so many variations today that you can have lots of fun choosing… They can range from Tiara with Veil, Tiara on its own, fascinators, hair combs, hairvines, or just simple hair clips with a little sparkle!
When ordering your hair accessories, especially if its Bespoke, then be sure to let your adviser know everything about the style of gown and wedding you have chosen.
For more information on ordering Bespoke items from me or ready made items please pop over to my webpage www.zebedeezweddings.co.uk

Welcome
This is my first blogger blog as Zebedeez Weddings, welcome and please be patient with me as I get the hang of this site.. LOLand the world of blogging!!A little bit about me. I decided after having my son that I needed to find a job that would fit around him, and wanted to finally do a job that I loved and I could feel motivated with each and every day (Well most days anyway!!). I love jewellery and have dabbled in the past at making some pieces, so took the first plunge in getting trained and creating my own designs.. It’s a scary first move but once I had started it I was hooked. Which is where the idea for Zebedeez Jewellery came alive. This name is an old nickname that incorporates my initials. I am enrolled on a business course to help my simple mind understand the logistics behind running a succesful company, whilst keeping the tax man happy!
I have to say I thought I would struggle with the design side of things, but have found because I am loving what I am doing it seems to come naturally (so far). I think I have some lovely pieces in my collections and hope others do too……
I started off with just the general jewellery and then moved into Tiara’s, fascinator’s and favours, which has led me into the wonderful world of weddings…….. Such a beautiful and exciting world to be in, being involved in a persons most special day……. Due to this being succesful I dedicated a site specifically just to that and have now created www.zebedeezweddings.co.uk.. Take a look and please let me know what you think, all feedback is greatly accepted :)
Anyway, hope this proves to be an exciting and informative site for you and look forward to hearing from you.
In the meanwhile if anyone has any wonderful wedding stories to share with us I will be more than happy to post them up here for everyone to share..
Take care and speak soon Zoe xxx

Name came about from my initials (ZBD) and Mum used to call me Zebedee when I was younger. I decided rather than a ‘s on the end to make it more fun with a Z…

Zoe Bernadette from Zebedeez Jewellery Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
We asked Zoe to tell us how she set up business making handmade Jewellery and what courses she has done.
I started jewellery making after I had my son. Being a single mum I needed to find a role that would fit around him and his school, and wanted to finally do a job that I loved and I could feel motivated with each and every day. I love jewellery and have dabbled in the past at making some pieces, including doing a silver-smithing course many, many years ago at night school!. About a year and a half ago I took the first plunge and did a couple of one day workshops to refresh my skills, and learn some new techniques to create my own designs.. It was a scary first move but once I had started it I was hooked, and so Zebedeez Jewellery came alive.

After this I took a workshop in Tiara and Fascinator making, and progressed very naturally into making these items, along with Wrist corsages for weddings and proms. I have to say, I think this is my favourite part of it all. There are so many ideas, materials and styles to work with to create some truly beautiful pieces.

Zebedeez beautiful Wrist corsages for weddings and proms, have a pretty Vintage look, with the colours and pearls. These are great for tiny bridesmaids who wont hold flowers, you could also have a matching ones made for their hair too!

Since setting up I now sell my items via the Internet (website and Facebook) along with a couple of craft sites, craft fairs, and I also have some pieces in my local wedding shop who refer clients to me. I find now that I am also having referrals from people who have previously bought off me, which is a lovely compliment for my work.
